About This Job

The Cocktail Bartender is responsible for preparing, mixing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes and service standards. The role ensures a high standard of guest service, cleanliness, and accurate stock and cash control.

Main Duties & Responsabilities

  • Prepare bar areas and workstations prior to service, ensuring proper setup and cleanliness.
  • Welcome guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Inform guests of daily specials, promotions, and featured beverages.
  • Take beverage orders accurately and enter them promptly into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages strictly in accordance with approved recipes and standards.
  • Serve beverages directly at the bar and, where required, prepare drinks for table service.
  • Prepare and present itemised bills to guests.
  • Handle payments accurately, including cash and electronic transactions.
  • Ensure all stock consumed is correctly recorded and accounted for.
  • Arrange bottles, glassware, and bar displays in a functional and visually appealing manner.
  • Assist with receiving, handling, restocking, and replenishment of bar stock and supplies.
  • Transfer empty bottles, waste, and stock to designated storage or disposal areas.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues promptly to the Manager on Duty.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all bars and service areas, including counters, equipment, sinks, storage, and work surfaces.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a bartending or cocktail bartender role.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Sound knowledge of standard drink and cocktail recipes.
  • Good understanding of spirits, wines, beers, glassware, garnishes, and bar presentation.
  • Working knowledge of bar equipment and POS systems.
  • Strong cash-handling skills.
  • Knowledge or formal training in mixology is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods.
